DECATHLON PULSE & REBIKE MOBILITY Strengthen their Partnership
DECATHLON PULSE, the investment arm and start-up studio of DECATHLON, is increasing its partnership with Munich-based e-bike refurbishment and recommerce company Rebike Mobility, and becomes its majority shareholder. This alliance aims to support Rebike Mobility’s ambition and development, unlocking new customer segments across Europe. The transaction has received all required regulatory approvals.
Founded in Munich in 2018 by Thomas Bernik and Sven Erger, Rebike Mobility is a leading provider of refurbished e-bikes and bicycles in Germany and in the DACH region. By making high-quality, professionally refurbished bikes from renowned brands more accessible, the company extends product life cycles and supports the circular economy. It also contributes to the development of active and sustainable mobility, enabling more people to adopt healthier and enjoyable ways of moving.
Strengthening a shared vision for sustainable mobility
By increasing their partnership, Rebike Mobility and DECATHLON PULSE reinforce their long-term commitment to accelerating the circular economy within the cycling industry and supporting the professionalization of the European e-bike secondary market.
Rebike Mobility remains an independent company, brand and operational entity, leveraging its specialized expertise in refurbishment, industrial digital integration, and end-to-end value chain management. The existing management team, led by co-founders Thomas Bernik and Sven Erger, continues in their current roles to ensure continuity for customers, partners and ongoing operations, and to seamlessly continue Rebike Mobility’s successful growth trajectory.
Franck Vigo, DECATHLON PULSE CEO: “Becoming the majority shareholder of Rebike Mobility marks a natural next step in a partnership built on shared convictions and values. We are proud of the journey achieved together so far and of the impact Rebike is creating at scale. This partnership reflects our ambition to back strong entrepreneurial teams and to help turn circular mobility into a lasting solution for Europe.”
Thomas Bernik, Co-Founder and CEO of Rebike Mobility: “With this expanded strategic partnership, we are combining our expertise in recommerce and refurbished e-bikes with Decathlon’s reach, retail expertise and global presence. Together, we are creating a sustainable, customer-centric omnichannel offering that unlocks new target groups, guarantees service quality and at the same time strengthens the economic success of both brands. We would like to thank our investors, former shareholders and all employees for this major success. We are proud to reach this milestone in our company’s history and look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Decathlon team in Germany and subsequently in other markets.”
Anders Berger, Circularity Capital: “We’re delighted that Decathlon Pulse has chosen to increase their investment in Rebike and look forward to working even more closely together to maximise Rebike’s potential. As a specialist circular economy investor, we see Rebike as a flagship example, delivering high-quality refurbishment at scale, extending product life and making sustainable mobility more accessible. With Decathlon’s expanded support and Rebike’s expertise, this partnership will accelerate growth and positive impact as Rebike expands globally.”
Successful pilot phase of a shop-in-shop concept in Germany

As part of their collaboration, DECATHLON and Rebike Mobility have jointly piloted a shop-in-shop concept in Germany, designed to broaden access to premium refurbished e-bikes within DECATHLON’s retail ecosystem. Through the “Buy Back” system, used e-bikes and bicycles are repurchased and professionally refurbished, reinforcing a full-service customer approach and positioning participating stores as local touchpoints for sustainable mobility.
Since their launch in March 2025, Rebike Mobility shops located in Weiterstadt, Cologne-Marsdorf and Leipzig Nova have shown strong performance and highlighted the relevance of the second-life offering in attracting new audiences. Building on the success of this pilot phase, Rebike Mobility plans to expand the concept to six additional DECATHLON stores in Germany in 2026.
Arnaud Sauret, CEO of DECATHLON Germany: "Our partnership with Rebike Mobility exemplifies what can be achieved when shared values, expertise, and vision come together. By building on Rebike Mobility’s strong track record in refurbished e-bikes, we are enhancing the in-store experience, broadening access to sustainable mobility, and reaching new customer segments. Together, we are advancing our joint ambition of making the circular economy an integral part of sports retail, while delivering innovative, high-quality solutions for our customers."
