DECATHLON becomes Official Nutrition Partner of DECATHLON CMA CGM Cycling Team, accelerating Performance Expertise

VILLENEUVE D’ASCQ, February 25, 2026 – Since January 1st, 2026, DECATHLON has become the official nutrition partner of the DECATHLON CMA CGM cycling team for an initial three-year term.

This strategic partnership spans the team’s entire roster: World Tour (28 riders), Continental (13 riders), and Junior (15 riders) squads. DECATHLON will support these athletes across the international racing calendar, during training camps, and throughout their individual preparation.

This marks the first time DECATHLON’s Nutrition division has engaged in a full co-design collaboration with a professional cycling team, representing a major milestone in the brand's high-level performance development.

Co-designed with Pros, engineered for every athlete

A player in the sports nutrition market since 2000, DECATHLON is driven by a clear mission: delivering products based on the latest scientific research, rigorously tested by both elite athletes and everyday users in real-world conditions.

The Nutrition Performance teams have launched a deep co-development initiative with the riders and staff of the DECATHLON CMA CGM Team to design a range tailored to the grueling physiological demands of endurance cycling. This project brought together Professor Julien Louis, the team’s Head of Nutrition, and DECATHLON’s R&D experts.

The goal is to bake elite-level requirements into the product DNA from day one, ensuring every endurance athlete benefits. As such, the products developed for professionals, used in races, are also commercially available to the general public. For DECATHLON, this approach is a strategic pillar in supporting everyone through their endurance challenges.

Science-Backed Innovation: The 1:0.8 Range

Launched in February 2026, the 1:0.8 range includes ten products dedicated to high-intensity and endurance efforts, including energy gels, date-based bars, electrolyte drinks, and fruit jellies. It is built around a glucose-to-fructose ratio scientifically recognised to optimise carbohydrate absorption during prolonged exertion, maximise energy availability, and minimise digestive distress. This formulation allows for an intake of up to 120g of carbohydrates per hour, meeting the gold standard for efforts exceeding three hours.

Prioritising nutritional efficiency, DECATHLON focused strictly on performance-essential ingredients, favouring clean formulations with natural flavours, no artificial colours, and preservative-free gels.

Wim Devos, Nutrition Performance Product Manager at DECATHLON, says : “Stage racing pushes the human body to its limits. Our objective was clear: create products that sustain riders through long, repeated efforts without compromising digestion or energy efficiency. Athlete feedback was the catalyst for reaching this level of excellence.”

Julien Louis, Head of Nutrition for DECATHLON CMA CGM, says : “This partnership with DECATHLON is a game-changer for the team. For over a year, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with the brand’s engineers and nutritionists to develop a range that meets the highest professional standards before hitting the market. From initial concept to real-world testing, our riders’ insights drove the evolution of flavours, textures, and absorption. Since December, the entire team has been fueled daily by these drinks, gels, and bars. We’ve prioritised "clean" formulas, stripping back additives in favour of natural solutions to ensure perfect digestion. Our goal was to provide our athletes with precise, high-performance fueling – a non-negotiable for the intensity of professional cycling.”
