DECATHLON and CMA CGM join forces to accelerate France Cyclisme’s ambitions

Villeneuve d’Ascq/Marseille, July 21st, 2025 – DECATHLON, CMA CGM and France Cyclisme are pleased to announce their new co-naming partnership for the professional cycling team currently known as DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE. Starting from January 1st, 2026, the team will race as DECATHLON CMA CGM.

A powerful alliance rooted by shared values

Following the recent announcement of DECATHLON becoming the owner of the Pro cycling team at the end of the 2025 season, an ambitious new chapter is already taking shape. CMA CGM, a global player in sea, land, air, and logistics solutions, will join as co-naming partner, alongside DECATHLON, for an initial five-year agreement, renewable thereafter.

This alliance brings together two major French, family-owned companies, each deeply rooted in their territories, Hauts-de-France for DECATHLON, Provence for CMA CGM, and united by a shared culture of commitment, collective action, and belief in the power of sport to inspire, elevate, and bring people together.

For nearly 50 years, DECATHLON has been committed to make sport accessible to all, while progressively deepening its involvement at the highest levels of competition. For many years, the CMA CGM Group has supported sport as a vector for action both locally and globally, wherever the Group operates.

A major partner of Olympique de Marseille, CMA CGM has also been a long-time supporter of the International Cycling Tour of Guadeloupe since 2023. CMA CGM has been actively involved in promoting grassroots and inclusive cycling.

In 2024, the Group was also an Official Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a strong illustration of its deep-rooted commitment to the values of sport.

With cycling, CMA CGM continues to support a popular, demanding, and universal sport, accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Javier López, Chief Executive Officer, DECATHLON
“This partnership with CMA CGM embodies our shared human values and dedication to people. One that reflects our vision of collective progress and contributes meaningfully to the future of cycling. We look forward to writing this new chapter with CMA CGM, with passion, humility and ambition.”

Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CMA CGM
“I am proud to announce that our Group is becoming a sponsor of the cycling team “DECATHLON - CMA CGM”. This partnership reflects what we share with Decathlon: strong family roots, a long-term vision, and values such as boldness, perseverance and humility. Today, we are joining a great French sporting story, with the ambition to take a high-level team to the very top.”

Dominique Serieys, Directeur général de France Cyclisme
“CMA CGM’s commitment alongside DECATHLON marks a decisive step in our 2030 strategic plan, which aims for the highest level on the global stage.
This ambition is fully embodied by both DECATHLON and CMA CGM. They share a long-term vision, a strong culture of innovation, and core values that help promote France internationally.
Yesterday partners of Paris 2024, this alliance — a legacy of the Games — sends a strong signal: we are determined to write a historic new chapter for French and global sport.
The investment of our partners — whether financial, technical, or human — strengthens our resolve and elevates our standards, inspiring all CMA CGM employees worldwide, just as we’ve done with DECATHLON’s teammates.”

A long-term vision to reach the top of world cycling

Together, DECATHLON and CMA CGM are determined to deepen their involvement in the team. The ambition is clear: to compete with the best teams in the UCI World Tour, while building a long-term project driven by sporting integrity and athlete development.

This ambition goes beyond short-term results. It reflects a collective commitment to building an international project, one that nurtures talent, invests in the next generation, and grows stronger every season. The Development Team (12 riders from 7 nationalities) and the Junior Team (14 riders from 7 nationalities), are central to this strategy. It reflects the team’s desire to grow from within, prepare tomorrow’s champions, and shape the future of cycling with purpose and passion.

United by the same vision, both partners are preparing to vibrate as one with every race and to push relentlessly for the breakthroughs that will lead to the great victories of tomorrow.
